Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

woman discussing with her therapist - valley recovery center - intensive outpatient treatment for drug and alcohol addiction - partial hospitalization program (PHP) - addiction treatment centerSometimes known as “day rehab,” a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) lets a client benefit from the intensive support of a residential treatment program while still spending evenings at home. It can be thought of as a mid-point between full inpatient hospitalization and outpatient care.

PHP allows clients access to therapy, counseling, and aftercare support for a minimum of six hours per day, five days per week. Services are tailored to meet each client’s unique treatment goals, but may include family therapy, group therapy, and individual therapy with any necessary medication management services. For those in search of a creative outlet to help process their feelings about the recovery journey, art or music therapy may also be included.

PHP is most appropriate for clients who can’t commit to a traditional inpatient addiction treatment program due to work, school, or family concerns. However, since PHP is less structured and more flexible, it’s crucial that clients have a strong network of supportive friends and family who are actively involved in their recovery process.

Valley Recovery Center’s caring and compassionate staff bring decades of experience and training to helping clients understand addiction and co-occurring disorders such as anxiety and depression. We’re dedicated to helping you understand the nature of your disease and learn the tools necessary for a lasting recovery.
