Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Group Therapy with a Counselor - discussion on a couchValley Recovery Center’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is designed to offer flexibility for those who are concerned about balancing their recovery with work or school commitments. IOP groups are offered daily. Morning, afternoon, and evening times are available.

Going far beyond the level of support offered in a traditional AA group, Intensive Outpatient Program groups are led by Master’s level therapists with extensive experience supporting addiction recovery. The goal of the IOP group is to help each member learn to manage their behaviors, emotions, and cognitions in a way that effectively prevents relapse from occurring.

Addiction is often an isolating experience, which is why Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) groups play such a vital role in the healing process. By sharing your struggles with others who are also taking steps towards a clean and sober life, you’ll learn that you’re not alone. This peer support will give you the confidence you need to tackle the challenge of building a better future for yourself.

IOP is not right for everyone, however. Clients must be clean and sober for at least 30 days to participate in our Intensive Outpatient Program. Those who are still actively using drugs and alcohol require a higher level of care that includes supervised detoxification.
